Water lift

If one psi is required to lift a column of water 2.3 feet, then in a 3-story building with 10 feet floor-to-floor height, the water pressure needed at the basement of the building to flush a toilet on the third floor, operating at 15 psi is?

Answer30 feet/2.3= 13.04 psi) lift + 15 psi flush = 28 psi required water pressure.

    Technically if the toilet is on the third floor the rise from the base of the building to the toilet is 2 stories, so 20 feet. If the toilet is 30 high then it would be on the roof.
