Material Dimensional tolerance

Dimensional notation in construction documents must also consider dimensional tolerances associated with various materials. For example, construction standards published by American Concrete Institute (i.e. ACI 117) are commonly referenced in project specifications, which should be coordinated with relevant detail drawings. In concrete formwork for a 40 foot building, allowance must be considered for upto 1/2 inch (Choose 2) A. in 10 feet variation from level in slab soffits, ceilings, and beam soffits B. minus (negative) variation in plan dimensions of footings C. plus (positive) variation in plan dimensions of footings D. plus (positive) variation in cross-sectional dimensions of columns & beams (thickness of slabs & walls) E. in any bay, or 20 ft maximum variation of linear building lines (from set position in plan and related position of columns, walls, and partitions)

Sprinkler system types

A large warehouse facility in Oregon stores paper products. Which of the following fire sprinkler systems should be installed? A. Pre-action system, B. Wet pipe system C. Deluge system, D. Dry pipe system

Building Efficiency

Convert the usable area of classrooms planned with medium efficiency level of new construction to the gross building area given the following model factors: Net Assignable Square Feet: 10,000, Space Factor: 1.5, Building Efficiency Ratio: 67%

Net-to-Gross

A net-to-gross building area ratio of 90% is more commonly achievable for which of these occupancy types? A. hospitals, B. restaurants, C. public libraries, D. museums, E. laboratories

Switchable glazing

Which of the following switchable glazings (their characteristics change by manual control or exposure to other environmental factors) offers the fewest trade-offs for energy-efficient performance? A. Photochromic, B. Polymer-dispersed liquid crystal film C. Thermochromic, D. Electrochromic
